I hope you enjoy this historical fiction. What questions do you have about the book?
What is racism? What examples of racism can we see in this story so far? Compare and contrast the life of a black child and a white child (in the book). How are they treated differently? Are they similar in certain aspects?

the book is coming along great. racism is for example: if I'm a African-American and i live in a white neighborhood. when i go outside the white people look at me wrong and don't get next to me or throw things at me cause I'm African-American. thats called racism.
ReplyDeleteThe book is coming along good. racism is like if somebody makes front of you of who you are or if your your a raise and they dont like you they will treat you bad.
ReplyDeleteHey Geniuses - I'm really getting into "Roll of Thunder"! Sometimes it is hard to read about the terrible racism, but the strong spirit of Mama, Cassie, and the others is really inspiring. My favorite part so far is when the kids get even with the bus driver, but don't get any ideas! What is your favorite part?
